Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain quality standards.
- Operate machinery efficiently to maximize capacity and speed.
- Train and assist First and Second Helpers with their tasks.
- Complete necessary reports, including Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, and Quality Data.
- Submit maintenance work orders for repairs as needed.
- Proactively maintain equipment and switch duties with the First Helper as necessary.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and maintaining good housekeeping.
- Adhere to the production schedule and make recommendations for optimizing it to meet cost, quality, and service goals.
- Report any unusual scheduling issues to the Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen.
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
Education And/or Experience
- A High school diploma or GED.
- Prior work experience in the packaging industry is preferred.
- Experience in some type of manufacturing operation for at least 6 months is preferred.
Language Skills
- Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
Mathematical Skills
- Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
- Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.
- Able to apply concepts of high school math.
Reasoning Abilities
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, walk, and talk or hear.
- Frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Sit occasionally.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 to 60 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and noise levels that are usually loud.
