About the role
The Safeway Ice Cream Plant in Bellevue, Washington, seeks an Ice Cream Production Worker. The position offers competitive wages ranging from $26.78 to $35.70 per hour, with starting rates varying based on factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and collective bargaining agreements. Responsibilities
- Receive ice cream bars/popsicles from the machine chute and place either 6 or 12 bars on a moving conveyor.
- Place 8 or 12 boxes of ice cream into a cardboard sleeve.
- Packers empty garbage and dispose of defective products.
- Clean equipment at the end of the production run.
- Rotate among packing positions.
- Work as part of a team and share job duties with other Machine Operators.
- Follow operating procedures and be responsible for efficiency, sanitation, 5'S, and GMP's, good housekeeping, and accurate record keeping.
- Avoid performing jobs in a safe and productive manner.
- Assist in pre-startup activities and general plant sanitation.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and sanitation standards.
- Perform other plant-wide duties as directed by supervision.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a food production or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow recipes, measurements, and instructions accurately.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy objects.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced production environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Willingness to follow safety protocols and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed.
