Production Worker - Custom Modular Housing Industry

About the role

Under general supervision, work on the production line to build manufactured housing as part of a team, performing quality work in a fast-moving and consistent manner. This role is non-exempt under the FLSA.

Responsibilities

• Perform all manual labor in the assigned production area.
• Keep the work area neat and clean.
• Read and use a tape measure.
• Read blueprints and orders.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers.
• Use hand tools, air tools, and electrical tools.
• Adhere to safety procedures and Champion Operating Principles.

Requirements

• Strong work ethic with the ability to work quickly and methodically.
• Good teamwork skills.
• Less than high school education; or up to one month of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in manufacturing or modular housing is desired.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
