About the role

You will serve as a PRODUCTION TRAINING BRANCH MANAGER in the Production Resources Training Division (Code 900T) of the Production Resources Department (Code 900) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.64% will be added to the stated salary.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and interpreting program regulatory requirements and policies to develop and implement recommendations for the improvement of efficiency and timeliness of production training program processes.
  • Performing special studies and projects for the Production Resources Training Division.
  • Preparing and collaborating in the preparation of comprehensive analysis reports covering all phases of studies and investigations covered, conclusions reached and recommendations for improvement or corrective action.
  • Exercising both administrative and technical supervision over subordinates for production training program work.
  • Planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work.
  • Delivering briefings and presentations to a variety of audiences, to include Project Managers and Command leadership.

Requirements

Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

This position requires that the selectee be willing and able to climb ladders and scaffolding.

This position requires that the selectee be willing and able to work onboard ships.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and interpreting program regulatory requirements and policies to develop and implement recommendations for the improvement of efficiency and timeliness of production training program processes.

Additional information

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Eligible DoD career or career conditional employees shall be granted statutory return rights to their former position for a period of 5 years if continuously employed in a foreign or non-foreign area provided by Executive Order 10895 and DoDI 1400.25, v 1230. Employees that do not exercise their return rights within five years are no longer eligible for return rights and will be treated as a local hire.

Temporary promotions may be extended up to 5 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations.
