Production Technician - Packaging
About the role
Linde Advanced Material Technologies Inc. is seeking a Production Technician - Packaging in Indianapolis, IN. This position operates in a 1st shift (6:00am-2:30pm) from Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and follow Product Manufacturing Instructions (PMIs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and production schedules to execute daily tasks.
- Support and participate in safety initiatives/policies as needed.
- Operate and maintain large-scale powder production equipment, including automated packaging machines, blenders, screeners, forklifts, scissor lifts, cranes, and pallet jacks.
- Complete minor to moderate machine adjustments and maintenance repairs.
- Work in a challenging environment that is typically temperature controlled but can be hot, dirty, dusty, and humid.
- Wear a respirator, flame-resistant (FR) clothing, and appropriate safety gear.
- Ensure safe and efficient operation in compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- The ability to read, understand, and follow complex work instructions with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Highly proficient in performing mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, across all units of measure.
- Experience operating plant equipment and industrial vehicles.
- Physical capability to perform tasks involving frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, hand and finger manipulation, as well as occasional stooping, crouching, climbing, and lifting up to 44 lbs.
- The ability to safely wear and work while using a full-face or half-face respirator.
- Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Qualifications
- For Level I (LGG9) Technician: 0-5 years of experience in a related manufacturing or industrial field, along with demonstrated mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge.
- For Level II (LGG10) Technician: 5+ years of experience in a related manufacturing or industrial field, along with demonstrated mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge.
Skills
- Strong proficiency in interpreting and following PMIs, JSAs, and production schedules.
- Ability to perform batch chemistry math calculations.
- Experience operating plant equipment and industrial vehicles.
- Physical capability to perform tasks involving frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, hand and finger manipulation, as well as occasional stooping, crouching, climbing, and lifting up to 44 lbs.
- Ability to safely wear and work while using a respirator.
- Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
