About the Role
This position is responsible for operating line equipment to meet product specifications and production requirements. You will ensure the proper loading, tracking, and recording of product components, perform material handling or packing as needed, and manufacture products according to SOPs and in a cGMP-compliant manner.
Responsibilities
- Prepare documentation for production line operations, including material/component tracking, reconciliation, product testing, line setup, line clearance, cleaning, and downtime.
- Relieve prior shift technician at the start of each shift.
- Prepare and assemble materials and components.
- Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs), including feeding components and materials through equipment.
- Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity.
- Clear equipment jams and maintain production logs.
- Perform material handling of line components and all Hi-Jump RF gun transactions.
- Build packaging for finished products and apply shipper labels.
- Perform in-process testing and inspection of product to meet specifications.
- Conduct rework of finished product out of specification when necessary.
- Separate scrap or waste materials for recycling, reuse, or environmentally sound disposal.
- Perform cleaning functions of operating equipment, supporting equipment, and work areas.
Requirements
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); mechanical education is a plus.
- 1 or more years of experience and/or education in working on or around manufacturing and packaging production line equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Prior experience operating manufacturing packaging equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations and compliance is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, professional journals, or government regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with peers and associates from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner.
- Ability to apply relevant policies consistently, objectively, and in a timely manner.
- Professionalism: approaches others tactfully, reacts well under pressure, treats others with respect, and accepts responsibility for own actions.
- Strong attendance and punctuality, including arriving at meetings prepared and on time.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail when performing routine quality inspections.
- Must successfully complete Level 1 training.
- Must be able to perform maintenance on equipment, such as preventive maintenance (PMs) and minor repairs.
- Must produce high-quality product at the required standard for Level 2.
- Must be PIT certified.
- Must have a working knowledge of Hi-Jump (HJ) and RF menu transactions.
