About the role
A Production Technician at UPT works in a warehouse/industrial environment and uses their hands to wire, de-wire, fixture, de-fixture, and handle metal parts. Technicians also clean and prep small metal parts and larger molds, as well as cross-train to operate coating room machines and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Wire (fixture), de-wire (de-fixture), inspect, clean, and pack customer parts (e.g., injection molds, gun slides, gears, pinions, knife blades).
- Perform job duties independently after training, with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment; wear appropriate PPE (glasses, gloves, and mask when needed).
- Lift 50 lbs. solo and 50+ lbs. with a team; stand for long periods; move parts and carts across the production floor.
- Demonstrate good manual dexterity, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow with UPT.
- Cross-train and perform additional duties as assigned, including hand cleaning, wiping/spraying parts with cleaning solution, working in blasting cabinets, loading parts into cleaning tanks, coating room duties, operating equipment, and shipping/receiving tasks.
Requirements
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. solo and 50+ lbs. with a team.
- Able to bend, move, and stand for long periods.
- Physically move around the production floor to transport parts between stations.
- Good manual dexterity, strong attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
- Wear appropriate PPE as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a production or warehouse environment preferred.
- Prior production and/or machine operating experience desired.
Schedule
1st shift: Sunday – Wednesday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM (four 10-hour shifts). Must be available to train on the alternate 1st shift (6:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday) for 4–6 weeks.
