About the role

SHD Composite Materials Inc was incorporated in August 2018 to service the expanding American and Canadian composite industries. The North American HQ in Mooresville, North Carolina became a fully operational manufacturing facility in 2019, with the Tulsa site operational in 2023. SHD manufactures advanced composite pre-impregnated (prepreg) materials, supplying high or low volume orders with a wide range of tooling and components across America and internationally. This role focuses on the manufacture of pre-impregnated composite materials to aerospace-accredited standards.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to company Health & Safety procedures and external compliance such as COSHH
• Work to company Quality standards (to AS9100 requirements) and Production tolerances
• Operate as an effective team member, assisting Team Leaders and Senior Operators to meet team targets, production targets and KPIs
• Assist with stock control and cyclic stock counts
• Tape cores, operate Bag Sealer, prepare for manufacturing runs, tread line, change rolls, add/remove poly, remove paper waste, bag and label rolls, operate handheld crane, drop fabric, sample film for testing, tape up side and side dam, add resin, package, box and label rolls, staple box, change base and top paper roll, change fabric roll, clean coating head, clean oven, off-wind rolls, verify pick sheets, pull rolls for shipping, complete daily/weekly inspections and operate the chiller unit
• Maintain the highest standard of housekeeping to keep a clean and safe working environment
• Support waste reduction and production cost minimisation
• Complete paperwork to comply with AS9100 Quality standards
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested
• Participate in full training across all areas of Production (Set Up, End of Line, Inspection, Coating Head and Resin Mixing) with the expectation of filling in as needed in every area

Work Environment / Essential Physical Demands

• Ability to perform physical work for extended periods of time
• Possible weekend work and overtime required
• Must have good vision
• Ability to frequently bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), and reach
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day
• Ability to frequently push and pull items up to 105 lbs using lifting equipment
• Ability to safely, effectively and reliably receive and give urgent and other essential communications in a factory environment
• Ability to detect abnormalities in the process and receive safety signals using visual, tactile, or auditory senses
• Must be able to follow all safety and company policies and procedures
• Must be able to wear all required PPE
• Must be able to work in a typical manufacturing environment on concrete floors
• Must be able to work short time periods in cold temperatures

Schedule

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with flexibility required at peak periods.

Pay

Non-exempt position with an annual salary of $19–$21.
