About the Role

The position involves operating and supporting packaging equipment. You will be responsible for quality, accuracy, and safety while producing products in compliance with GMP’s, OSHA, FDA, and HACCP guidelines. You will provide feedback to management regarding production goals and quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment per training and SOP’s to meet efficiency and effectiveness standards.
• Maintain daily production rates and machine settings as required.
• Meet daily quality and production goals.
• Ensure proper code dating on packages and finished cases.
• Monitor all packages for compliance within required guidelines and report improper coded product immediately.
• Act professionally in accordance with all company rules and policies.
• Record and monitor daily production data in the Oracle system.
• Follow safety procedures to avoid injuries and maintain a safe work environment.
• Work effectively with team members to meet production and quality goals.
• Handle packaging line paperwork or Oracle transactions in a timely manner.
• Monitor product quality and report issues to management.
• Follow all OSHA, GMP’s, SOP’s, SSOP’s, and FDA rules and regulations.
• Communicate product needs to the warehouse department.
• Report manufacturing, quality, or personnel problems to management.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Train employees on the operation of packaging equipment and product packaging.
• Assist in sanitation of equipment, production rooms, and facility as required by SSOP’s.
• Report to work on time and manage breaks effectively using the electronic UltiPro timecard system.
• Maintain acceptable attendance records.
• Assist in taking inventories as scheduled.
• Report food quality and safety issues immediately to the QA Manager and Director of Packaging.
• Complete additional responsibilities or duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers.
• Ability to perform basic calculations such as addition and subtraction.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Minimum of 3 months related work experience.
