About the role
The Production Support Lead is responsible for optimizing the efficient flow of goods, materials, and resources to support production activities. This includes planning, implementing, and controlling the movement and storage of products from receipt from vendors to shipment of completed goods.
Responsibilities
- Train new team members on all processes and procedures within Production Support.
- Cook up and assist with the receiving function at the facility to receive all materials both purchased by Procurement as well as owner-supplied materials. This may include (but not limited to) components, gear, raw materials (steel/copper), and consumables.
- Cook up and assist the Production Support Technicians to ensure the required flow of materials from inventory to the production floor, including regular restocking of all consumable and project components.
- Cook up and assist with the creation of all labels, wire markers, mimic bus, and other identification plates for all production activities.
- Lead and participate in all daily and regular production meetings.
- Under the direction of the Production Support Manager, cook up the control and logistics of sheet metal and copper parts once completed in the metal fabrication shop. This includes tracking to and from powder coating as well as internal and between production facilities.
- Cook up and assist with shipping and receiving logistics including inspection of items received and packaging of items for shipment as well as coordination of shipping details.
- Responsible for schedule inventory cycle counting and quarterly inventory. Provide reports and collaborate with the Procurement/Inventory team to ensure product can be properly counted.
- Responsible for collaborating with Production Floor Team and Production Testing Team on the fulfilment of all documentation related to production. Ensure all documentation is returned at the completion of any project for proper digital records.
- Transport material throughout warehouse with forklift observing all safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1-2 years of previous Inventory experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Other preferred certifications (must be willing to undergo training provided by DVM if certifications not already held): - OSHA10 - CPR - Forklift experience and/or certification
- AutoCAD experience, a plus!
- Satisfactory completion of additional background screening.

- Possess/acquire certification to use of lifting/ moving equipment such as a pallet jack and fork truck.
- High dedication to quality of results to avoid rework.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Standard work week is Monday through Friday, typically 40 hours per week, overtime may be required, including evenings or weekends, based on production demands.
- The work environment is an Office/Manufacturing/Warehouse floor. May be cold in winter, warm in summer. Noise level commensurate with machine operation, fork trucks, general industrial activity.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and operating a computer and periods of standing, squatting, kneeling may be necessary.
- Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to communicate effectively using phones or computer software.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities.
- Must be able to travel between MCG locations as needed, some travel could require overnight stays.
