Responsibilities

  • Counsels, records, and disciplines as necessary.
  • Develops Production leads to effectively oversee the daily routines of their assigned crew in the event of the production supervisors absence.
  • Conducts pre-shift meetings, communicates changes, company information, and plans to employees every shift.
  • Attends Tier Meetings as set forth by leadership team and provides information on Tier boards.
  • Creates a training plan for new hires and supports any onboarding needs.
  • Be alert to production problems and take necessary corrective action.
  • Maintain shift reports/records; ensure necessary operating supplies/materials are on hand.
  • Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the manufacturing mission.
  • Interviews and recommends applicants for hire as forming employees.
  • Creates shift schedule and modifies accordingly as changes occur with production and employees.
  • Collaborates with other employees to develop and install methods, improvements, and cost-saving ideas.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
  • Ensures established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
  • Safeguards employees’ safety, maintains housekeeping, and meets production quality and quantity standards.
  • Responsible for budgets and business planning for department and establishes and meets department goals and objectives.
  • Reviews and ensures SPC data and Production reports are completed.
  • Directly supervises 18-30 employees in the Production.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lead, motivate, select, train, and instruct personnel.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, communication, and mechanical skills.
  • Computer skills required for multiple graphs, reports, and charts.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • College degree in a related field; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
