Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance and leadership to production, quality, maintenance and warehouse drivers during shift hours.
  • Ensures adherence to safety, quality, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safety Quality Foods (SQF) and ISO standards and programs.
  • Evaluates performance of team members, enforces policy and administers disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Makes recommendations for improved and more efficient methods of operation.
  • Controls rework and regrind levels.
  • Determines utilization of workforce based on production demands.
  • Responsible for accuracy of production reporting (JDE/WEBEFF).
  • Adheres to all manufacturing standards and production schedules.
  • Effectively communicates company directives and plant information to staff via regular meetings.
  • Captures production activities for manufacturing areas to ensure production goals of EFF and MEEF are achieved.
  • Completes and submits production related paperwork.
  • Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
  • Responsible for adhering to Food Safety Compliance.
  • Responds to any emergency or potential emergency.
  • Security diligence, including maintaining control of door accesses, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Berry employees and proper maintenance/security of Berry equipment and information.
  • Constant vigilance and participation in GMP and SQF practices.
  • Affirmatively prevents nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.
  • Identifies and records problems relating to product, process and quality systems.
  • Tracks, confirms and verifies training for employees in the department and schedules training as needed and required.
  • Initiates action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
  • Initiates, recommends or provides solutions through designated channels.
  • Suggests actions for continual improvement to products, processes or systems and very the implementation of solutions.
  • Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
  • Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
  • Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritizing corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health, or safety risks.
  • Leads all required meetings with safety (ie. Pre-Shift, Departmental, Change Management, General Communications, Town Hall, etc).
  • Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.
  • Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
  • Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback.
  • Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience in a supervisory or management capacity preferred.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safety Quality Foods (SQF), and ISO standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
