About the role

The Production Supervisor directs and coordinates union personnel through various stages of manufacturing and assembly, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and labor utilization goals are met.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clear expectations, coaching, and direction to employees.
  • Create and monitor daily efficient flow of material through the department by utilizing manpower and equipment.
  • Determine and implement continuous improvement plans for equipment and the overall department.
  • Monitor yearly budget for the department to reduce costs related to production and MRO supplies.
  • Foster working relationships with associated departments such as EHS, Planning, Engineering, and Quality.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication through toolbox meetings and employee meetings.
  • Understand, communicate, and follow all company policies, work rules, and Union Contract.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving them.
  • Maintain accurate time and attendance records.
  • Coordinate activities with Group Leader(s) and employees.
  • Ensure department inventory accuracy.
  • Partner with Human Resources and management on grievance and disciplinary matters for fair and consistent treatment.
  • Make daily decisions on production schedules and personnel-related matters affecting delivery and quality.
  • Work to a high ethical standard, complying with all company policies, work rules, Union Contractual agreements, and applicable laws with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
  • 3 to 7 years of supervisory experience or production leadership.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees at all levels.
  • Strong communication skills to handle difficult situations while adhering to company policy and procedure.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and work instructions.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word required.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Project Management, and ISO procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP Systems.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS standards, Quality Control, and Production processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift, depending on operational needs.

Pay

$75,000–$95,000 yearly salary.
