About the role
Eaton’s Electrical Division is currently seeking a 3rd Shift Production Supervisor to join our team in Nacogdoches, TX. Relocation is offered.
Pay
The expected annual salary range for this role is $71,000 – $105,000 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Responsibilities
- Direct departmental activities and initiate/participate in cross-functional activities to accomplish objectives of safety, quality, on-time delivery, inventory, productivity, and continuous improvement
- Drive a Zero Incident Safety Culture
- Align Eaton Quality System priorities to department requirements
- Manage department operations and prioritize production requirements
- Facilitate shift activity among other department supervisors
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and contribute toward becoming a lean organization
- Initiate and coordinate assistance from support departments as required
- Ensure standardized work processes are followed, countermeasures implemented, and the area is compliant with safety requirements
- Review daily in-process inventory reports to determine and assign priorities
- Assign daily work schedules for direct and indirect labor to meet business goals
- Monitor and provide coaching follow-up for performance regarding safety, quality, and productivity
- Monitor machinery, equipment, and facility and initiate maintenance work orders to ensure efficient, effective, and safe working conditions
- Coordinate and maintain associate clerical files regarding attendance, overtime equalization, vacation, training, and time-off requests
- Manage department expense budgets
- Conduct daily tier meetings regarding communications, department and plant concerns, and policy interpretation
- Provide training resources within the department
- Lead cross-functional teams to improve processes and meet plant objectives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing/operations environment with 1 year of leadership experience
- OR High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution with 15 years of experience in a manufacturing/operations environment with 2 years of leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of problem-solving tools and lean manufacturing practices (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, Brainstorming, Value Stream maps, 8D, A3, 5S+)
- Experience in large manufacturing environments
- Six Sigma/Green Belt certification
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Experience leading cost savings initiatives or continuous improvement efforts within cross-functional teams
Position Criteria
- Must be able to stand, bend, twist, stoop, climb, and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
