About the role

The Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift with Siemens Energy Blades & Vanes division will oversee manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while managing the production team for the 2nd Shift (2-10 PM EST). This role includes supervising employees, scheduling, line balancing, and monitoring quality, efficiency, and compliance with Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Acting as the primary contact for production issues, the supervisor fosters teamwork and drives process improvements. Strong leadership skills are essential for success in this role.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Ensure safe work practices are followed by all manufacturing personnel, addressing deficiencies and taking corrective action as needed to maintain OSHA compliance and prioritize workplace safety.
  • Study daily operating results, meet with subordinates and supervisors to resolve production issues, and maintain cooperation between departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage staffing by ensuring correct workforce distribution, coordinating temporary staffing needs, and overseeing training for all new or transferred employees.
  • Monitor and evaluate overtime requirements, authorize vital overtime, track employee attendance records, and enforce company policies when needed.
  • Aid in mediation of personnel issues, conduct disciplinary actions when required, and continuously coach and develop the production team to enhance skills and flexibility.
  • Evaluate production reports and metrics, monitor customer production requirements, coordinate schedule adjustments, and implement strategies to meet both short- and long-term business goals.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s in engineering with 5 years or associate degree with 8 or more years of work experience.
  • 3 or more years of direct supervisory/leading experience in manufacturing and/or investment casting.
  • 5 or more years of manufacturing experience involving alignment, assembly work, casting, welding and machining.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment, collaborating effectively with diverse departments, and demonstrating strong proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office software for efficient workflow and reporting.
  • Proven experience in team building, conflict resolution with hourly manufacturing workforce, addressing issues to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
