Duties And Responsibilities
- Assigns work to employees.
- Generates daily reports including output achieved, regulatory compliance reporting, or shift summary.
- Maintains adequate staffing levels to meet production needs.
- Interviews potential employees and gives hiring recommendations.
- Partners with Team Leads and HR to validate new employee training and mentoring.
- Maintains employee time, attendance, and vacation/sick time on a timely basis through ADP system.
- Enforces use of mandatory PPE.
- Performs walk-throughs of production area to ensure productivity levels.
- Maintains cleanliness in the work area through daily/weekly audits.
- Works with engineering to institute work cell changes and material and motion studies.
- Controls shift to shift communication on daily or ongoing items.
- Applies for annual reviews of direct employees.
- Works with production planning/plant management to level load expected plant output.
- Motivates employees using various positive reinforcement tools.
- Creates and communicates Incident Reports and relays safety concerns.
- Responds to emergency situations safely and calmly.
- Holds direct employees accountable to established work standards.
- Directs material movement within the manufacturing department.
- Develops and implements strategies to improve performance of sub-performing employees.
- Verifies daily inventory through proper material handling techniques/procedures using ERP system.
- Conducts daily Toolbox Meetings.
- Drives development, training, use, and maintenance of work instructions.
Qualifications
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience for a minimum of 2 years.
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Must be able to pass physical and fit testing for respiratory protection if required.
- Must be capable of standing or sitting for long durations.
- Must have first aid, CPR, and AED certificate or ability to obtain certification.
- Must have forklift licenses (propane, electric, aerial platform, and turret) or ability to obtain one.
- Must have excellent time management skills.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand basic English.
- Advanced analytical and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to present ideas and documents in a group format.
Education And Training Requirements
- Forklift license for a minimum of 2 years preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Past manufacturing experience preferred.
- Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two-years related experience and/or training.
