About the Role
The Production Specialist reports to the Production Manager & Review/Refigure Supervisor and is responsible for reviewing and refiguring flooring estimation measurements for accuracy. This is an hourly, non-exempt position that will work from home.
Responsibilities
- Review and refigure flooring estimation measurements for accuracy
- Perform mathematical computations and basic algebraic/geometric calculations
- Use software tools (Floor Wizard, RFMS, PDF Editing Software, Microsoft Office) to perform job duties
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing in English
- Proofread work and prepare documents as needed
- Organize and manage tasks within time constraints
- Apply knowledge of building codes, materials, industry, and products
- Negotiate prices and contractual agreements
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months flooring/estimation/construction experience
- High school diploma or GED; one to two years related experience and/or training
- Experience reviewing measurements and contracts, preferably in millwork, construction, or flooring
- Customer service management experience
- Reliable internet connectivity for remote work
- Ability to focus on job tasks undisturbed
- Ability to work a rotating schedule, including weekends (Saturday and Sunday required)
- Knowledge of installation of windows and doors; general construction knowledge preferred
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, email, and word processing software
- Ability to use a calculator and computer
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
- Ability to view documents, multiple screens, and read handwritten documents
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs (e.g., laptop or monitor)
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
- Primarily indoor, heated, and cooled office space
- May work remotely from home
- Noise level is usually quiet
