Production Personnel

About the role

Follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Sets up and operates a variety of machines and uses various hand tools to fabricate and assemble doors.

Responsibilities

• Bores holes for insertion of screws or dowels.
• Glues, fits, and clamps parts and sub-assemblies together to form complete unit.
• Drives nails or other fasteners into joints at designated places to reinforce joints.
• Sands and scrapes surfaces and joints of articles to prepare articles for finishing.
• Installs hardware such as hinges.
• Attaches appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
• Packs finished goods into correct packages and boxes.
• Tracks production on schedule boards.
• Notifies supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
• Works in all areas of production for which they have been trained.
• Lifts and carries 30-80+ lbs on a regular basis throughout the workday.
• Understands how errors in production, paperwork, etc. can impact the bottom line.
• Works closely with other production personnel promoting a “can-do” attitude.
• Works overtime as required when necessary.
• Maintains a professional and respectful relationship with all other employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
• Knowledge of all products and nomenclature.
• Adaptability to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, and handling frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.

Physical Demands

• May need to sit or stand as needed.
• Requires walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
• Must lift and move larger, heavier items appropriately.
• Reaches above shoulder heights and below the waist, bends, and stretches as needed to work on machinery.
