ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates all assigned extrusion equipment.
- Works under the close direction of the supervisor.
- Bell and unitize pipe products.
- Operates forklift when required.
- Visibly inspects pipe for flaws.
- Operates banding equipment and other miscellaneous packaging equipment.
- Builds wooden frames when necessary.
- Sets up and operates extruders, pullers, vacuum tanks, pre-heaters, cut-off saws, printers, and bellers.
- Aids during changeovers.
- Maintains proper cut length and makes adjustments with the assistance of the supervisor.
- Maintains constant observation of extrusion heats and all other machine conditions.
- Makes necessary adjustments under the direction of the supervisor.
- Performs required QC inspections and tests.
- Performs all required inspections; wall thickness, outside diameter, ovality, cut length, bell length, and records the results per J-M specifications.
- Records all required data on inspection and equipment condition.
- Verifies all in-process Q.C. checks and tests and evaluates results.
- Makes miscellaneous minor repairs to equipment.
- Relieves other positions for lunch and breaks.
- Willing to learn new tasks and take on individual responsibilities.
- Keeps equipment and working area clean and orderly, including painting of assigned equipment.
- Uses safe working practices and reports hazardous conditions at all times.
- Performs other miscellaneous jobs as directed.

- EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Ability to perform physical and visual requirements.
- Computer Skills Experience with computers and basic keyboarding skills.
- Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, and operating instructions.
- Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work Environment Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds.
- Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and gloves.
- Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
