Production Operator

Responsibilities

• Read process sheets, specifications, and related documentation to determine how the current job is to be processed.
• Inspect and place or transfer the product on the coating line according to the process sheet and/or loading diagram.
• Inspect and package the product from the coating line according to the process sheet and/or packaging sheet.
• Communicate any defects, problems, or issues to the Line Operator during the product run.
• Perform specialized wiping and transferring of various products when trained and assigned.
• Assist the Material Handler in preparing packaging needs.
• Maintain general housekeeping of the area:
  • Ensure scrap and rework are placed in the correct containers/locations.
  • Return process sheets, loading diagrams, packaging sheets, and specifications to the correct location at the end of the run.
  • Return tooling, part samples/masters, and packaging to the correct location at the end of the run.
  • Keep the work area free from debris and clutter; sweep at the end of the shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Ability to work at a fast pace while identifying defects.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Reliable transportation.

Work Environment

The work environment involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and loud noise levels.
