Production Operator

About the role

Autocar is looking for individuals that thrive in a team-based environment, focused on attaining goals. The Production Operator will function in self-directed work groups/teams, responsible for the productive operation of the Assembly line.

Responsibilities

• Perform backflushes correctly and ensure 5S is followed
• Ensure quality control is met
• Help gather relevant data for part shortages and repetitive defects
• Provide feedback to supervisors and QC
• Participate in root cause problem solving
• Train new employees to meet expectations in assigned workstations
• Oversee or perform installations outside of standard conditions
• Perform work at four stations within the department or other departments

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Over one year of experience in a vehicle manufacturing/industrial environment preferred
• A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and ability to open and read a Bill of Materials
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude

Work Conditions

Standard manufacturing plant environment with moderate noise level. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses and steel toe shoes will be required and reimbursed in manufacturing or industrial areas.
