Production Operator 1

About the role

The Production Operator position at Johns Manville Bremen facility involves manufacturing insulation for roofs. The facility is part of the top performers in the division, ensuring job security and providing opportunities for advancement through the Pay-For-Skills program.

Responsibilities

• Understand HMIS, MSDS labels and applications
• Read and understand production schedule
• Understand all company product specifications and quality standards
• Troubleshoot and fix problems in production and report issues
• Train new employees (production level 1)
• Know emergency stop operations and how to lockout dry end equipment
• Ensure cleaning expectations are met
• Perform various tasks such as changing film, cutting feet material, stacking bundles, scraping laminator plates, monitoring production, performing QA tests, adjusting line settings, and setting up equipment
• Communicate over the radio and identify defects during production

Requirements

• At least one year working in a warehouse/production environment
• Able to read a tape measure, work instructions, and finished product specifications
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages)
• Begineer to intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Solid communication skills (written/verbal)
• Strong decision-making skills
• Exceptional teamwork skills
• Able to operate a forklift
• Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Able to stand for long periods on cement floors
• Able to walk, stoop, kneel, climb ladders and staircases, and work on elevated levels
• Able to lift up to 20-50 lbs on a regular basis
• Able to operate mobile equipment
• Able to work overtime and have a flexible work schedule, including weekends

Pay

The base hourly rate for this position is $24.05.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is flexible and may include weekends.
