Production/Operations Supervisor, Converting

About the role

C-P Flexible Packaging is a fast-growing essential manufacturing company producing creative flexible packaging solutions. Our York facility is seeking an experienced, hands-on Converting Operations Supervisor to lead our Converting Department on 2nd shift (Monday–Thursday, 4 pm–2 am).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily converting operations, including reclose packaging, pouching, and zipper application.
  • Assist with material handling and ensure adequate supply for production.
  • Develop and maintain efficient workflow throughout the department.
  • Monitor production performance and maintain accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Support staffing requirements, vacation planning, and shift coverage.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Ensure achievement of department quality, productivity, safety, and production goals.
  • Perform and oversee quality control testing and production data collection.
  • Coordinate product trials, sample production, and development projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, processes, and procedures.
  • Support food safety and SQF compliance initiatives, including audits, SOP adherence, and recall preparedness.
  • Lead, coach, and develop employees to achieve department and company objectives.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Support employee training and professional development initiatives.
  • Handle employee relations matters fairly and consistently in accordance with company policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing supervision and/or plant engineering experience in an industrial environment.
  • Experience leading manufacturing teams and driving operational performance.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to adjust, maintain, and improve converting equipment.
  • Quality control and production testing experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with web handling processes.
  • Knowledge of printing, lamination, and slitting operations.
  • Experience with GlobeTek or other manufacturing software systems.
  • Ability to obtain forklift/tow motor certification.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, reaching, and crouching.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally.
  • May occasionally work at heights or in confined spaces during equipment inspections or modifications.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments, including machinery, noise, inks, and solvents, requiring PPE.
  • Flexibility to support other shifts as business needs require.

Schedule
