Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all second-shift manufacturing operations to achieve production targets, efficiency goals, and customer delivery requirements.
  • Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions to address schedule, quality, staffing, or equipment issues.
  • Ensure production plans are executed in accordance with established schedules and priorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, waste reduction, and operational excellence.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements.
  • Lead incident investigations, corrective action implementation, and safety improvement activities.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and facility inspections.
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
  • Partner with Quality teams to identify and resolve manufacturing and process-related quality issues.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality concerns.
  • Support continuous improvement activities related to quality performance.
  • Provide direct leadership for supervisors, team leaders, and hourly employees on second shift.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and employee engagement.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to improve performance and support future succession planning.
  • Manage employee performance, attendance, corrective actions, and recognition programs.
  • Serve as the primary leader responsible for the entire facility during second shift operations.
  • Cook up with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Respond to operational emergencies, equipment failures, staffing issues, and customer priorities.
  • Ensure building security, housekeeping, and overall facility standards are maintained.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Scrap, and OEE.
  • Lead daily shift meetings and communicate priorities across departments.
  • Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in planning activities to ensure smooth shift-to-shift transitions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Management, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent manufacturing leadership experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing supervisors and large production teams.
  • Experience in leading multi-department manufacturing operations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Likely authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Benefits

The pay range for this position is $91,463 - $156,794 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
