About the role
As a Production Lead at Ascentek, you will play a pivotal role in directing and coordinating day-to-day production activities. Your responsibilities include planning, organizing, and carrying out objectives related to production efficiency, utilization, safety, productivity, and quality.
Responsibilities
- Ensure customer needs are met through appropriate day-to-day allocation of people, equipment, and assets in the production operations of the plant.
- Work with the management team, customers, and Ascentek personnel to prioritize tasks and assign resources cost-effectively to meet the customers' needs.
- Oversee activities in the production area to meet production goals, safety, quality, and cost objectives.
- Plan and coordinate the flow of materials through the production area, from raw materials to finished products.
- Participate in plant continuous improvement/change over reduction activities and process.
- Assist in maintaining product quality through Finished Parts Document controls.
- Develop and implement operating procedures designed to eliminate production problems and improve quality.
- Plan and oversee the maintenance of assets that are critical to production.
- Maintain plant cleanliness such that customer tours can be a positive marketing experience.
- Plan and administer policies and procedures.
- Ensure employees follow safety rules and safe practices.
- Make budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.
- Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
- Analyze and identify the cause for quality or production problems.
- Become proficient in the use of Ascentek’s manufacturing & inventory control system (JDE).
- Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and manpower requirements.
- Develop and maintain efficiency, productivity, and quality measurements.
- Present measurements to management on a predetermined basis.
- Select and develop personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function.
- Afford an emphasis on safety to ensure compliance with all pertinent government regulations and provide a safe environment for employees.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years manufacturing related to packaging business and production line operation.
- Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience.
Qualifications
- Understanding of KPMs and manufacturing processes.
- General Quality & Safety Awareness.
- Understanding of Lean Principles.
- Strong communication & Organizational skills.
- Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Understand laptops and projectors for training purposes.
- Basic Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Inventory Management System (JDE).
Skills
- Physical Demands: Employee must have the ability to lift/carry up to 60 pounds occasionally and push/pull 76-100 pounds occasionally. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or use hands, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk.
- Mental Demands: Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
- Environmental Demands: Work in extreme heat (>80 degrees) during summer in the Warehouse and Production area.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety eye glasses and safety steel-toe shoes are required.
- Safety Concerns: Heavy products, light and heavy-duty machinery, forklifts, working in a congested and high activity warehouse.

Pay
The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $25 and $30 hourly. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:
