What You'll Do The Production Lead Second Shift ( 3pm-1:30am ) is responsible for leading daily production activities while performing hands-on manufacturing and assembly work. This role supports production operations by coordinating workflow, assisting with complex production tasks, maintaining quality standards, and providing guidance and training to team members. The Lead Production Associate serves as a technical resource on the production floor and works closely with supervisors to ensure production goals, safety standards, and customer commitments are achieved. Production Leadership Coordinate daily workflow and assist in assigning production tasks to team membersLead by example while performing hands-on production and assembly workMonitor production schedules and help ensure daily production goals are achievedAssist supervisors with prioritizing work and balancing workloadsTroubleshoot production issues and communicate solutions to supervisors and support teamsAdapt production priorities to meet changing customer and operational needs Manufacturing & Assembly Assemble and manufacture building products according to work orders, engineering drawings, and production specificationsRead and interpret blueprints, machining templates, work orders, and production documentationOperate production machinery, saws, hand tools, pneumatic tools, and other manufacturing equipment safelyVerify measurements and specifications using tape measures and other measuring devicesPerform product setup, adjustments, and assembly for standard and specialty products as required Quality Assurance Monitor production quality throughout the manufacturing processInspect completed products to verify compliance with company quality standardsIdentify production defects or material concerns and implement corrective actionsSupport continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, efficiency, and product quality Team Development Train, mentor, and support Production Associates on equipment, processes, and quality expectationsPromote teamwork, accountability, and professional developmentServe as a technical resource for production employeesEncourage safe work practices and reinforce company standards Safety & Operational Excellence Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all company safety policies and PPE requirementsPerform routine inspections of equipment and work areasMaintain clean, organized, and efficient production workspacesReport equipment issues, material shortages, and safety concerns promptlyPerform additional duties as assigned What You'll Bring Strong leadership and teamwork skillsMechanical aptitude and experience operating manufacturing equipmentAbility to read production drawings, machining templates, blueprints, and work ordersAbility to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic mathematical calculationsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and organizational skillsCommitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvementExperience in manufacturing, millwork, woodworking, door production, truss manufacturing, or related production environmentsPrevious team lead or production leadership experienceExperience operating saws, routers, drills, pneumatic tools, and production equipmentForklift certification or ability to obtain certificationExperience producing custom or specialty building products preferredWork is performed in manufacturing and production environmentsExposure to machinery, dust, noise, vibration, and varying temperaturesAbility to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shiftAbility to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds; heavier materials require team lifting or mechanical assistanceFrequent use of hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing equipmentOccasional overtime or weekend work may be required to support production demandsOccasional travel between facilities or customer sites may be required depending on business unit needs What you'll earn Pay: $25-$27/hourHealth Care BenefitsPaid Time Off401(k) with company match QXO is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
