About the Role

In this role, you will self-direct operators with strong leadership skills and assist the Production Shift Supervisor in daily scheduling, operation, and evaluation of production staff assigned to your work group. You will coordinate and assist with materials, production, quality, and documentation of raw materials and finished parts, working closely with Supervisors, Material Handlers, and Production Engineering. Additionally, you will support training, coaching, and performance evaluations, stepping in for the Supervisor as needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities and resources of daily production assigned to the work group, including work assignments, break scheduling, relief, and shipping and packing label generation.
• Establish team objectives and measurements for production, calculate and compare production results with daily reports, and enter results in the ERP system.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure production necessities such as documentation, labeling, packaging, part quality, equipment control, and line purges are correctly set for changes in production or customer specifications.
• Collaborate with other Production Leads and the Shift Supervisor on production and personnel matters to meet work objectives.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment, identifying and resolving potential safety hazards.
• Lead continuous process improvement efforts to reduce scrap, cycle times, improve efficiency, and eliminate waste within the production environment.
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions, and safety rules.
• Exhibit regular, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of experience in manufacturing.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in plastics injection molding as a competent operator/inspector.
• Experience supervising others.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work assigned shift(s) with overtime as required.
• Capability to sit and/or stand for extended periods and move between offices and building sites.
• If required by customer specifications, must be able to see with or without corrective lenses and distinguish color differences for product and safety issues.
• Hearing ability sufficient to hear and react to audible alarms from distances up to 150 feet.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for manufacturing positions (30 pounds for administrative positions).
