About the Role

Amphenol Network Solutions, headquartered in Liberty Lake, WA is a division of Amphenol Corporation, based in Wallingford, CT. The Production Lead provides day-to-day leadership and coordination for assigned light assembly work areas, with primary accountability for quality execution, operator training, material readiness, and production support.

Responsibilities

  • Leads assigned work areas by coordinating daily priorities, workflow, materials, documentation, and operator support under the direction of the department supervisor.
  • Manages daily schedule and assigns employees to jobs or workstations to maximize efficiency and meet the schedule.
  • Communicates daily expectations, changes in priority, production status, and material needs to operators, supervisors, and supporting departments as appropriate.
  • Reviews work orders, drawings, and production documentation to ensure operators understand the build process and quality expectations.
  • Trains new employees and cross-trains existing employees on assembly processes, quality requirements, safety expectations, production documentation, etc.
  • Verifies training effectiveness and notifies the supervisor when additional support or retraining may be needed.
  • Provides coaching and constructive feedback to reinforce safe work practices, quality standards, productivity expectations, and professional communication within the work area.
  • Performs and documents in-process checks, first-piece inspections, and other quality verification activities.
  • Tracks operator time and job status accurately using ERP system
  • Maintains accurate training, quality, production, and administrative records in accordance with department requirements.
  • Monitors material availability and coordinates with inventory, warehouse, purchasing, and planning to obtain materials and tools to keep work moving.
  • Works with Manufacturing Engineering to identify and implement process improvements
  • Maintains a clean, well-organized and safe work area incorporating 5S manufacturing techniques.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or operations environment required.
  • Training in lean manufacturing, quality systems, leadership, or related topics preferred.
  • Prior lead, trainer, or informal leadership experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, bills of material, production documentation, quality requirements, and written procedures required.
  • Experience tracking production activity, labor time, job status, or material needs preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written directions.
  • Basic English speaking/writing and reading skills required.
  • Works effectively as part of a team, as well as independently
  • Displays cross-cultural sensitivity while working in a diverse employee population.
  • Experience using computers, email, and internet required
  • Experience working with an ERP system strongly preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel is preferred

Physical and Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand, and use hands to manipulate small components. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, occasionally above the shoulders or below the knees. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and some assembler positions may be required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Work Environment

An employee in this position works in an open manufacturing environment. The employee may be required to work on or around equipment that produces radiant heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, industrial chemicals and vibration.

Pay

Pay Range: $21.50 - $22.50
