Production Lead

About the role

The Production Team Lead will assist the Value Stream Leader in maintaining a safe, structured work environment while driving production throughput. This position will act as a liaison between the production supervisor and line operators, ensuring that procedures are being followed, while also suggesting ideas for streamlining processes.

Responsibilities

• Implement daily and weekly work week plans and schedules for the department.
• "Own" everything associated with the day to day line operations.
• Subject matter and product assembly expert for your line.
• Lead and train employees to help ensure efficiency and productivity.
• Perform administrative tasks under the guidance of the Value Stream Leader.
• Bring any employee concerns to the supervisor to ensure company morale.
• Ensure a safe work environment.
• Identify/develop leadership qualities in production personnel.
• Supports and sustains morning markets to ensure cross departmental communication is happening as efficiently as possible.
• Sustains CAIRE's 6S program, by ensuring their work area is clean, organized and meets all safety requirements.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Supervise employees on a specific line.
• Work in a full production environment.
• Regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk and hear.
• Occasionally climb or balance.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this role includes close vision.
• Travel: None Required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• The ability to foster teamwork.
• Strong verbal and written skills.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Adherence to and administration of Company procedures and policies.
• Basic math skills (weight measurement, volume, distance, multiplication and division).
• Attention to detail essential.
• Strong time management skills.
• Possesses proven ability to identify, reason and problem solve minor non-conformities and deviations.
• Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
• Overtime and weekend hours, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
• Experience using blueprints and design sketches.
• Awareness of quality standards to include ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
