About the role
The Production Team Lead will assist the Value Stream Leader in maintaining a safe, structured work environment while driving production throughput. This position will act as a liaison between the production supervisor and line operators, ensuring that procedures are being followed, while also suggesting ideas for streamlining processes.
Responsibilities
- Implement daily and weekly work week plans and schedules for the department.
- "Own" everything associated with the day to day line operations.
- Subject matter and product assembly expert for your line.
- Lead and train employees to help ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Perform administrative tasks under the guidance of the Value Stream Leader.
- Bring any employee concerns to the supervisor to ensure company morale.
- Ensure a safe work environment.
- Identify/develop leadership qualities in production personnel.
- Supports and sustains morning markets to ensure cross departmental communication is happening as efficiently as possible.
- Sustains CAIRE's 6S program, by ensuring their work area is clean, organized and meets all safety requirements.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Supervise employees on a specific line.
- Work in a full production environment.
- Regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk and hear.
- Occasionally climb or balance.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this role includes close vision.
- Travel: None Required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- The ability to foster teamwork.
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Adherence to and administration of Company procedures and policies.
- Basic math skills (weight measurement, volume, distance, multiplication and division).
- Attention to detail essential.
- Strong time management skills.
- Possesses proven ability to identify, reason and problem solve minor non-conformities and deviations.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
- Overtime and weekend hours, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
- Experience using blueprints and design sketches.
- Awareness of quality standards to include ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
