Production Lead

About the role

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located in Bellingham, Washington State. We are seeking a Production Lead to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

• Leading one or more teams in the execution of various manufacturing processes such as: composite fabrication, infusion, assembly, welding, mill operations, metrology, ovens, or Waterjet operations.
• Responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed under their charge as well as the training and safety of their crews.
• Completing assigned shift work, assigning and explaining daily tasks to workers, monitoring work progress, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Training and assisting technicians I & II, improving technicians' understanding of the job at hand, building the technical skills of the team, and continuously improving quality and efficiency.
• Accessing Quality Management database for instructions/procedures as needed, reviewing Timecards, correcting clock-ins, reporting issues to Operations Manager/Cell Manager, keeping work orders stamped, dated, and organized, enforcing Janicki Industries Rules and Safety Practices, and maintaining work areas clean and organized.
• Maintaining material usage records, enforcing 5S, AS9100, and Nadcap Standards and Practices, and limiting and controlling use of shop consumables.
• Participating in training, safety, and quality programs, working in other areas as assigned, and actively participating in classroom and on-the-job training leading to reasonable advancement in skill level.
• Reading, interpreting, and following pass downs, work orders, isometric drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and other technical and non-technical documents.
• Ensuring adherence to ITAR and EAR regulations, obtaining a U.S. Secret Security Clearance, and participating in Continuous Evaluation program.

Qualifications

• US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
• Two-year technical certificate or bachelor’s degree in a directly related field may be substituted for experience.
• One-year manufacturing experience is required.
• Prior experience in composite or fiberglass fabrication and repair is preferred.
• Crane and forklift experience preferred.
• Able to read, understand, and follow work orders, written procedures, blueprints, drawings, and other technical documents.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
• Willingness and ability to obtain a government issued security clearance.

Additional Information

The wage range for this role is between $20 - $50 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
