Production Lead

About the Role

This Lead position is responsible for leading temporary employees at the St. Cloud location, assisting in training, and ensuring plant processes in their assigned area meet productivity goals and exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Follow company safety rules and guidelines, as well as company GMPs.
• Monitor activities in area of responsibility at all times during shift.
• Train and lead, as well as communicate effectively with all co-workers.
• Work to minimize downtime.
• Ensure every detail and specification of each product is met.
• Assist in implementing directives of management with assigned workforce.
• Assist managers in documentation and record keeping for assigned area.
• Perform appropriate tests on product and processes.
• Keep track of assigned inventory and notify warehouse when low.
• Maintain proper sanitation, track chemicals used, and their concentration.
• Evaluate and make suggestions for continuous improvement of processes.
• Learn and apply new processes and procedures in area of responsibility.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and working properly at peak efficiency.
• Maintain and communicate all customer and company daily reporting.
• Perform all other duties as assigned or required by the supervisor/customer.
• Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Adhere to and comply with quality production and Food Safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret in English.
• Strong mechanical background and ability to troubleshoot.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to direct and lead people.
• Must be able to communicate with all levels of employees, vendors, customers, and visitors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP or other inventory management systems.
• Experience with GMP and/or HACCP regulations.
• Knowledge working in Outlook, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and use of customer portals.
• 2-3 years’ experience in a high-speed production environment.
• Previous lead/management experience.

Job Setting

This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Employees will experience varying physical demands throughout the day, including standing for extended periods, walking on occasionally slippery floors, and handling equipment or materials. Due to the nature of the facility, temperatures may fluctuate based on outside weather conditions including heat and cold. The work environment can be loud, and hearing protection (ear plugs) is required. Additionally, to ensure safety and hygiene, employees must wear hairnets and refrain from wearing jewelry while on the production floor. Alcohol is an ingredient in products we produce; we are unable to guarantee positions that do not involve working around alcohol.

Physical Requirements

• Regular bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Extended standing on hard surfaces.
• Work around noise, dust, variable temperatures, and use of production chemicals.
• Vision required: distance, close, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
• Frequently required to stand, talk, or hear, use hands, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
• Works in a production and warehouse environment, including forklifts, equipment, and damp floors.
• Frequently exposed to working near mechanical parts and exposed to vibration.

Schedule

12-hour shift - 6a-6p, 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month).

Pay

$23.00 - $24.50 per hour depending on experience.
