Production Lab Tech - Optical Manufacturing

About the role

National Vision is one of the largest optical retail companies in the United States with over 1,100 stores. We operate four retail brands: America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses, Eyeglass World, and Vista Opticals inside select Fred Meyer stores and on select military bases. Our optical manufacturing facility is growing! We're excited to offer new openings, including entry level, for production lab techs in various departments at our manufacturing lab.

Responsibilities

Our associates are responsible for performing a variety of duties, depending on their assigned department and lab needs. Production techs help expedite job orders throughout the manufacturing process in a timely and efficient manner in order to serve our customers. Associates observe data on job orders, sort and organize jobs, utilize RF scanning and perform other department specific tasks.

We have production positions available in our Surface and AR (anti-reflective coating) Departments.

Surface Duties Include:

• Backside coating - making sure lens is clean, spraying, wiping lens and loading in machine
• Blocking and Deblocking, block prep
• Machine operation, taping, generating, polishing
• Lens washing - removing lens from block, rinsing, washing and drying lens to remove debris

AR Duties (depending On Experience Level) Include:

• Sort and clean lenses
• Inspect lenses for imperfections
• Use ultrasonic cleaner to clean and rinse rings
• Operate AR coating machine
• Load lenses into sectors and machines
• Download lenses back into trays
• Sandblast sectors and panels, clean coating machines

Qualifications

No specific education required. No specific experience required for entry level but prior mass production, machine operation or warehouse experience is preferred. Prior related or optical experience desirable. Must be able to read and write English.

Pay and Schedule

Entry level starting $15.50/hr PLUS additional bi-weekly bonus opportunities. Shift Hours: Mondays through Fridays, 6:00am - 2:30pm
