About the role

Hourly Production Workers are the backbone of our company, ensuring products are consistently manufactured safely and to customer specifications. This role requires agility and a willingness to adapt as business demands change. Ideal candidates will master their assigned roles and may have opportunities to transition to other positions within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Use an assortment of knives, steel, and a hook to perform job tasks, including developing and maintaining knife sharpening skills.
• Operate heavy equipment.
• Bag and box product.
• Use proper personal protective equipment effectively.
• Work hands-on at high speed, including lifting over 50 pounds.
• Maintain clean work areas and follow food safety protocols.
• Inspect meat or meat products and/or packaging.
• Stay aware of surroundings and report hazards to a supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Work regularly in temperatures near or below freezing (coolers, loading dock freezer).
• Work in damp or cold conditions (20-30°F in fabrication).
• Lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs.
• Work with sharp knives or cutting tools.
• Willing and capable of working overtime, including Saturdays, when necessary.
• Available to work day and night shifts.

Working Conditions

• Production and maintenance settings with exposure to chemicals, machinery, and knives.
• Slippery floors, cold temperatures, and loud ambient noise.
• Constant standing for 8 to 10 hours per day, 6 days a week (loading dock may require 7 days as scheduled).
• Repetitive hand motions, grasping, and reaching for product or materials.
• Two scheduled breaks per day based on union contract and operational requirements.
• Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, with weekend work required as scheduled (Saturdays typically scheduled during fall season).
• Ability to work 50+ hours per week.
• Good attendance and safety records required.
