Production Helper - 2nd Shift

About the role

Several 1st and 2nd shift positions available. Experience is preferred, but we will train the right person.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all applicable safety and housekeeping guidelines.
  • Oversee departmental safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Read and follow all Standard Operating Procedures and work orders.
  • Review daily production using computer manufacturing software and assign associate work.
  • Maintain accurate serial number logs as required.
  • Use computer manufacturing software to report daily production, retrieve Bill of Material (BOM), and check inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with engineering and quality on pilot runs, BOM audits, pilot completion paperwork, and training records.
  • Communicate discrepancies or questions to Engineering.
  • Participate in routine departmental meetings as needed.
  • Perform monthly cycle counts and inventory as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Quality Requirements

  • Read, understand, and complete training on all related standard operating procedures and work instructions to meet customer and QMS requirements.
  • Reference related SOPs and work instructions for specific quality expectations.
  • Qualify to use measurement devices such as rulers, calipers, or tape measures to verify product acceptance and machine operation.
  • Conduct constant visual inspection of materials and products to ensure acceptance.
  • Set aside non-conforming materials or products for disposition by appropriate personnel (supervisor, quality representative).

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent and/or previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Maintain a neat and clean work area.
  • Active participation in FXI’s Safety Program.
  • Follow Safe Work Practices, including wearing safety glasses or goggles, hazard communications, forklift certification, and gloves.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Apply common sense to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Some experience operating machinery is preferred.
