Production Helper 2nd Shift

Assist workers in the fabrication of structural or metal products by performing support duties in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain performance standards and meet production and quality expectations
• Lift, position, and remove workpieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding
• Load, stack, and transport stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand or truck
• Clean and scrape metal being prepared to and from fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping areas
• Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment
• Pick up scraps from work areas; load and unload trucks
• Grind burrs from holes on various parts and grind sharp corners from material
• Assist fellow employees as directed; perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3–6 months of experience in a manufacturing plant or warehouse
• Experience in the steel industry and/or galvanizing is a plus
• Ability to be forklift and overhead crane certified (may not operate until certified)
• Knowledge of electric and pneumatic hand tools
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Effective communication in English (reading and writing)
• Good attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work required overtime
• Ability to follow instructions and the Leadsman’s directions
• Must be able to relocate to Haltom City, TX 76117 before starting work

Schedule

• Monday – Friday, 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM (10-hour shift)
• Saturday as needed
• Night shift (5 PM – 3 AM)
• 40 – 55 hours per week

Pay

From $17.50 per hour plus $1.00 deferential pay ($18.50 total per hour).
