About the role
The main function of the Production Group Supervisor is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers. The role is part of the Supply Chain Group, looking to expand 3rd shift operations on both sides of the house for both engine lines. The V8 carrier is in a new launch status and starting to ramp up, with a high workload.
Responsibilities
- Recommend measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
- Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
- Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
- Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.
- Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
Typical Day in the Role
- Heavily involved with UAW team members, managing a group of around 15-25 employees.
- Working with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines.
- 100% onsite on the GA plant floor, with a lot of walking and standing.
- Performance feedback is given in real time.
- Someone willing to stand up to their team. It is difficult to come in this environment and not get "run over" by the team members. We're always willing to help but have to take ownership and initiative to receive help. I want someone that can handle a project on their own.
- Safety is important. Holding people accountable from a safety perspective, especially in general assembly.
Skills
- Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Previous knowledge of supply chain / material movement would give an edge.
- Managerial experience is a plus within UAW space.
- At least 1-2 years of experience mandatory.

Shift Information
1st / 2nd / 3rd will most likely have rotation. Training starts on 1st shift.
- 1st Shift: 5:30am to 2:30pm
- 2nd Shift: 1:30pm to 10:30pm
- 3rd Shift: 9:30pm to 6:30am
