Production Group Lead - Manufacturing
Job Summary
At Forj Medical, the Production Group Lead works within a medical device manufacturing environment leading production activity on the manufacturing floor. Production Group Leads are responsible for ensuring day-to-day production related activities are performed effectively and efficiently by assigning daily staffing to the production lines, issuing proper materials to jobs, and reporting appropriate quantities to each job. The Production Group Lead is responsible for quickly responding to all events that impact the ability to meet production goals and escalating issues to management as required.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- First line leader, visible on the floor and primary point of contact for direct labor with regards to daily production activities
- Assign daily staffing location to direct labor employees to meet build plan targets according to production schedule
- Report proper operational procedures and ensure all work in process is properly identified and controlled according to SOPs and escalate any production related issues to management
- Gather production data to support Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including daily output, quality metrics, continuous improvement initiatives, and other measures as identified
- Update, and send out daily production pass downs for assigned production lines
- Audit and train employees working on specific production lines to current procedures
- Assess component availability and inventory for assigned production lines and communicate any potential issues, such as stock outs, or needing materials from Receiving Inspection to management
- Ensure accuracy of inventory on production line
- Evaluate materials on assigned production lines to ensure proper electronic, and physical movement
- Ensuring the marking of discrepant material and devices is completed through the nonconformance process
- Utilize leadership skills to prioritize tasks, delegate to team members, and escalate to management
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications And Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent required
- 3-5 years of experience in electronic-based manufacturing environment required
- Experience in assembly, inventory control, shipping, or receiving in a manufacturing environment required
- Associates degree preferred
- Demonstrated ability implementing Lean tools and methodologies
- Experience with regulated environments such as FDA QSR's, ISO13485 for medical devices, and ISO 9001:2000 preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability
- Proficient knowledge of quality improvement tools and techniques
- Ability to work well independently and on a team
- Demonstrated proficiency working with computers and the Microsoft Office Suite
Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Subject to mandatory overtime requirements based on business demands
- Manufacturing Environment: Cleanroom Manufacturing Environment (up to ISO Class 6)
Compensation
The expected starting pay for this position is $26/hr to $29/hr depending on qualifications. As part of your overall rewards, we offer a comprehensive benefits program.
