About the Role
Assist with filling and/or packaging orders from the warehouse in preparation for shipment. Help maintain the warehouse and inventory of products and/or customer-supplied materials. Contribute to training and continuous improvement efforts within the team.
Responsibilities
- Pick or package a variety of printed materials or related items using different packing procedures and techniques.
- Follow detailed procedures to perform routine packing work, including assembling finished products into boxes or containers for shipping.
- Operate computers and warehouse management software to ensure accurate shipping information is attached and packages are shipped on schedule.
- Place, arrange, mark, seal, and tag items in bundles, on pallets, or in containers, bins, and bulk storage.
- Meet established productivity and quality standards while identifying and resolving potential issues with department leads or management.
- Count and sort various product items, and may feed, remove, flex, jog, or stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels, or other in-process products.
- Load and unload materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, and convey materials using hand trucks, electric dollies, or similar devices.
- May operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Assist with special projects or more complex customer orders, and maintain the security and safety of the warehouse.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 1+ year of relevant working experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment required.
- Ability to read and interpret job specifications and identify correct parts for fulfilling customer orders.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to explain departmental procedures and methods.
- Basic knowledge of routine packing procedures, techniques, equipment, and general warehouse procedures.
- Ability to stock, move, arrange, and rotate items according to operating instructions or guidance.
- Skill in assembling standard shipping boxes and packing contents securely.
- Basic proficiency in using shrink-wrap, strapping equipment, manual dollies, pallet jacks, carts, hand trucks, and related tools.
- Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Willingness to flex schedule to meet production needs, including working overtime or different shifts as required.
- Ability to use a ladder to pick items or retrieve boxes and materials.
Pay
Starting rate: $20.06 per hour. The national pay range for this role is $20.06 - $26.65 per hour, with variations based on geographic location, education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. Shift differential: $1.25.
Schedule
10-hour, B Shift: Tuesday–Friday, 5:00 PM – 3:00 AM.
