Purpose of Position
The Production Coordinator facilitates cable manufacturing through process optimization and flow enhancements to maximize overall efficiencies. They coordinate available equipment and staffing resources to enhance WCP production performance. They continuously evaluate production plans for needed adjustments and communicate all necessary information for shift consistency. They monitor the safety of Manufacturing Associates and address any concerns or violations.
Major Responsibilities
- Ensure manufacturing associates are following all safety and housekeeping procedures to maintain the manufacturing floor and equipment as a clean and safe working environment.
- Organize personnel resources to optimize plant output through changing manufacturing circumstances.
- Plan and communicate product flow schedules to maximize plant output.
- Diligently monitor and minimize non-conforming product inventory through prevention and prompt disposition. This includes working with Quality, Engineering, Planning and Scheduling to disposition negative flow product.
- Primary contact with Planning and Scheduling for remakes, expedite or special orders.
- Cook up the flow of 'special' orders or projects through manufacturing.
- Keep track of OOF and disposition items to support scheduling and quality.
- Determine the need for additional support necessary to meet production requirements.
- Ensure Autonomous Care and Visual KPI entry compliance.
- Provide coordinator coverage for additional departments based on business needs.
- Manage raw materials in PSA through material item accuracy and remnant usage.
- Provide daily reports on production status using shift turn-over meetings.
- All other duties as assigned by Team Leader.
Education/Experience
- A high school diploma or GED
- Previous leadership experience (preferred in a manufacturing/production environment)
Additional Skills
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to develop, influence, and motivate manufacturing associates to achieve optimum performance.
- Well-developed troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
- Comprehensive computer skills in CoMET, SAP, and Microsoft Office preferred.
- The ability to analyze and prevent recurring problems and discrepancies in the areas of product flow and non-conforming product.
- Willingness to work in any process.
Pay
The range for this position is $25.25 hourly rate - $29.63 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
