Production Associates - 1st Shift

About the Role

As a Production Associate (Manufacturing Assembler) on the 1st shift, you’ll be hands‑on assembling full truck bodies, bringing strength, precision, and pride to every build. Morgan Truck Body promotes from within, with many production leaders starting in this role.

What a Day in Your Life Looks Like

• Interpret blueprints, work orders, specifications, and safety requirements with accuracy.
• Cut wood and metal to precise specifications using saws, shears, and other equipment.
• Build and fasten components using bolts, screws, rivets, clips, and other hardware.
• Safely and efficiently operate pneumatic and hand tools.
• Set up equipment and perform preventive maintenance to keep production moving.
• Inspect finished products to identify defects and ensure quality standards are met.
• Complete required safety and quality checks to maintain a reliable work environment.
• Follow all company safety policies and help create a safe workplace for everyone.

Training

• Basic math, tape measurement, and computer skills
• Working with hand and power tools
• Reading and interpreting blueprints

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High School Diploma or equivalent GED
• Previous experience in manufacturing (preferred)
• Previous experience working on truck bodies (preferred)
• Construction experience is a plus

Physical Requirements

This fast‑paced manufacturing role requires standing for extended periods, walking, and using hands to operate tools and equipment with precision. You’ll need to lift up to 35 pounds and perform movements such as bending, squatting, reaching overhead, and occasionally crawling in tight spaces. Repetitive hand tasks, climbing ladders, and working at heights are also part of the job.
