About the role
Production Associate within the Door Fabrication facility in Lancaster, TX. The role is fast-paced and primarily responsible for assembling pre-hung door units. Associates are typically assigned to one specific operation within the DDF but may be cross-trained and utilized in other areas based on business needs. The DDF comprises warehouse operations, production operations, and post-production packaging operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-hung door production tasks as assigned by supervisors
- Maintain a work pace that matches the assembly line without excessive errors or delays
- Safely operate machinery as directed
- Perform accurate measurements to ensure product quality
- Follow work tickets to ensure order accuracy
- Use forklifts to move materials within the DDF plant
- Receive materials from vendors, verify order accuracy, and store materials properly in the warehouse
- Receive production orders, pick required materials, and arrange them to facilitate efficient production
- Receive special orders from the DeSoto Millwork Branch and verify their accuracy
- Receive products from the production line and mark them appropriately for customer delivery
- Use forklifts to safely transport products from the production line to the staging area
- Stage products to enable efficient loading and delivery
Safety
- Comply with all OSHA safety requirements, work rules, and regulations
- Use proper body mechanics when lifting objects up to 50 pounds; seek assistance for lifts greater than 50 pounds
- Report unsafe conditions and behaviors to supervisors
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas
General/Administrative
- Support the company vision and mission and demonstrate corporate core values in all professional activities
- Comply with all OSHA safety requirements, work rules, and regulations
- Compile and maintain required paperwork, records, and documents
- Follow systems and procedures outlined in company manuals
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Minimum of 1–2 years working in an industry involving wood products, cabinetry, construction, millwork, or similar fields
- Solid, dependable history of safe, consistent work
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and certification in forklift operations
- Ability to perform basic math and take measurements
