Production Associate

Duties And Responsibilities

• Affords assistance to operators at the coil loading and packaging ends of the line.
• Builds pallets and shipping containers using hand and power tools.
• Bands and palletizes metal coils and/or metal sheets, placing tags/labels on finished products.
• Performs quality checks to ensure proper lengths, widths, and weights are adhered to using the proper tools.
• Detects and reports faulty operations or defective materials.
• Moves or carries parts, equipment, or materials.
• Reads and understands production orders.
• Wraps and unwraps materials.
• Houses work areas.
• Operates a sit-down forklift.
• Achieves production goals while complying with all safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Training and certification provided regardless of previous experience.
• Ability to read documents and interpret facts and draw conclusions.
• Understanding basic math, reading, and writing.
• Good communication, organization, and time management skills.

Education And Experience

• Required: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

Working Conditions

• Production facility where the ambient temperature may fluctuate, and the noise levels may be increased.
• Flexible to the possibility of overtime and weekend hours when required.

Days/Hours

• Monday through Friday – 7am to 3:30pm.

Physical Requirements

• OCCASIONALLY: Lifting or carrying 1-10 lbs, pushing or pulling 1-40 lbs, bending or stooping, reaching above shoulder level, driving automatic equipment vehicles, operating machinery or power tools, climbing (ladders, stairs, etc.), walking, standing, sitting, working in extreme temperatures, repetitive motion including but not limited to wrists, hands and/or fingers, vision, hearing, dexterity, hand eye coordination.
• FREQUENTLY: Lifting or carrying 21-40 lbs, pushing or pulling 41-50 lbs, bending or stooping, reaching above shoulder level, driving automatic equipment vehicles, operating machinery or power tools, climbing (ladders, stairs, etc.), walking, standing, sitting, working in extreme temperatures, repetitive motion including but not limited to wrists, hands and/or fingers, vision, hearing, dexterity, hand eye coordination.
• CONTINUOUSLY: Lifting or carrying 41-50 lbs, pushing or pulling 51 or more lbs, bending or stooping, reaching above shoulder level, driving automatic equipment vehicles, operating machinery or power tools, climbing (ladders, stairs, etc.), walking, standing, sitting, working in extreme temperatures, repetitive motion including but not limited to wrists, hands and/or fingers, vision, hearing, dexterity, hand eye coordination.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used: Steel or composite toe boots, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves and arm guards, hearing protection.
