About the Division
ITW Electronics Assembly Equipment (EAE) Division comprises four brands strongly recognized by Contract Manufacturers and OEMs in the Electronics and Industrial Markets. The Division designs, develops, manufactures, and markets capital equipment primarily used in the assembly process of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and other industrial applications.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the R&D engineering focal point internally and externally for overall product technology.
- Act as product architect to maintain deep knowledge of product requirements, design, application, technical roadmap, customer pain points, and technology trends.
- Lead product technology exploration, innovation, development, and deployment.
- Drive the development and update of multi-generation product technology strategy and roadmap.
- Direct global, functional engineering and application teams on new product and application development, as well as sustaining efforts.
- Serve as the key contact for the ITW innovation center for new technology exploration, research, assessment, and competitive intelligence.
- Represent EAE to customers in product technology strategy and roadmap sessions.
- Own IP strategy, roadmap, and development.
- Capture Voice of Customer (VoC), market trends, and priorities from product management and other customer-facing groups to transform them into a multi-generation product and technology roadmap.
- Lead the R&D core team in new product development projects.
- Provide input on resource needs and timelines to implement new development projects or initiatives.
- Represent ITW-EAE as a product technical leader in technical meetings, conferences, and forums through participation, presentations, training, and contributions.
Requirements
- Experience with end-to-end reflow soldering product development—concept, design/development, testing, launch, and post-launch support.
- Strong understanding of the reflow soldering process and application.
- Good understanding of reflow solder technology trends.
- Knowledge of major reflow products globally.
- Experience in direct customer interaction and gathering Voice of Customer (VoC).
- Ability to conceptualize new ideas based on marketing and customer requirements and follow through by developing short- and long-term technology roadmaps.
- Demonstrated experience in effective collaboration with global, cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to advanced technology (machine learning, intelligent machines, artificial intelligence) and its application to reflow soldering.
- Experience in reflow thermal profile development.
- Effective communication and presentation skills for global, cross-functional teams.
- High degree of proficiency in problem-solving.
- Experience in developing technical value propositions.
- Ability to manage projects.
Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree (preferred Master’s) in Science or Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience in product design, development, technology management, or process/application development.
Pay
The pay rate for a successful candidate will depend on geographic location. In Massachusetts, the pay range is $145,000 - $170,000. The specific hiring rate within the posted pay range will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
