About the role
Grow your career with an innovative global bank in Rutherford, NJ as a Product Owner. Contract role with strong possibility of extension and/or conversion. Will require working a hybrid schedule 2-3 days onsite per week.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree/University degree. Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of proven experience in product ownership, business analysis, or systems analysis within a complex enterprise environment.
- Requires a blend of strategic vision, hands-on execution, and a deep understanding of regulatory compliance, risk management, and internal policy frameworks within a financial services context.
- Demonstrated expertise in translating strategic objectives into detailed product requirements and managing product backlogs.
- Strong understanding of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies with proven experience in managing and delivering complex technical projects.
- Prior experience in Enterprise Risk Management and understanding of internal policy frameworks (e.g., Policy, Standards & Procedures, Regulatory Inventory) is essential.
- Advanced data analysis skills, including proficiency with tools like Excel and Python for enhanced data processing and insights.
- Proven ability to manage complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, balancing conflicting needs and driving consensus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders, including senior management.
- Experience leveraging automation and AI-enabled tools to improve productivity, reporting, and delivery discipline is a significant plus.
- Experience using AI assisted tools is a plus.
- Strong Stress Testing experience.
What You Will Be Doing
- Drive the end-to-end product lifecycle for critical Risk Policy Hub functionalities.
- Translate high-level strategic objectives and product roadmap into clear, actionable product requirements and user stories, enhancing organizational efficiency for the Risk Policy Hub.
- Define and articulate the product vision and roadmap for the Risk Policy Hub, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and regulatory imperatives.
- Serve as the primary liaison between risk management, compliance, legal, technology, and other key stakeholders to capture, analyze, and prioritize business requirements for Risk Policy Hub functionalities.
- Develop and maintain a well-groomed product backlog, ensuring stories are clearly defined, estimated, and prioritized based on business value, regulatory urgency, and technical feasibility.
- Facilitate workshops and discussions to elicit detailed requirements, resolve ambiguities, and ensure shared understanding across teams.
- Maintain the Book of Work and lead prioritization discussions with key business stakeholders.
- Utilize AI tools for requirements documentation, analysis, and other relevant aspects of product management for the Risk Policy Hub.
- Work closely with agile development teams (scrum masters, developers, QA) throughout the entire product lifecycle of the Risk Policy Hub, from conceptualization to deployment and post-launch optimization.
- Provide clear guidance and promptly answer questions from development teams during sprint cycles to ensure accurate understanding and implementation of features for the Risk Policy Hub.
- Actively participate in all agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure delivered solutions meet specified requirements and quality standards.
- Manage large, multi-faceted projects involving multiple functional streams, technology platforms, and geographical locations, driving business results.
- Develop and publish content for senior management reporting, presentations, and internal communications.
- Collate and communicate key project milestones, risks, and achievements.
- Ensure the Risk Policy Hub's design and functionality support robust data governance, enterprise risk management, and auditability for regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with relevant Enterprise Data Office (EDO) and other Product teams to integrate advanced interdependent functionalities into the Risk Policy Hub effectively.
