Product Marketing Manager

Merciv · New York, NY · 1 mo ago
On-siteMarketing$125k–$175k/yrFull-time

About the role

We're hiring our first dedicated product marketer to bridge the gap between Merciv's product and its customers. The role involves owning the positioning and messaging, creating sales enablement materials, and driving the go-to-market for new features and capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Own positioning and messaging: develop value maps that link every capability to quantifiable outcomes for a named buyer, addressing concerns like "why not just use ChatGPT?"
  • Run go-to-market for new features and capabilities: craft launch narratives, tiering strategies, and cross-functional plans involving Product, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Create sales enablement: produce pitch narratives, decks, one-pagers, battlecards, objection-handling guides, demo scripts, and a demo video library.
  • Create mid-to-bottom-funnel content: develop solution and use-case pages, demo narratives, case studies, and comparison content.
  • Keep competitive intelligence sharp: analyze and compare Merciv against AI tools, social listening platforms, and direct competitors, feeding findings back into messaging.
  • Run win/loss analysis and buyer interviews: gather insights to ground positioning in reality and inform the product roadmap.
  • Partner with the product team: ensure alignment between what's being built and how it's communicated.
  • Flex into adjacent work: contribute to website conversion efforts, demand campaigns, events, and webinars.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in product marketing at a high-growth tech startup, preferably B2B selling to enterprise buyers.
  • Experience positioning for senior data, insights, or analytics audiences, especially those skeptical of marketing claims.
  • Experience marketing trust: developing messaging and proof points that convince enterprises to share proprietary data with a platform.
  • A track record with data-heavy B2B platforms: simplifying complex products without dumbing them down.
  • Shipped converting work tied to win-rate, conversion, or influenced pipeline, not just output.
  • Hands-on approach: producing assets rather than just strategizing.
  • A modern PMM mindset: proficient in AI-assisted workflows and automation, with a clear idea of what to automate and what not to.
  • High ownership and low ego: taking direction well and providing a clear perspective when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Long-cycle, referral-driven enterprise sales motions and multi-stakeholder deals experience.
  • AI, data, and research-tech category fluency.
  • CPG/consumer-brand familiarity: understanding the industry where our buyers operate.
  • Experience standing up a PMM function from scratch, or operating as a team of one.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with data analysis and market research.
  • Knowledge of B2B sales processes and enterprise buyer behavior.
  • Proficiency in AI and data technologies relevant to the role.

Benefits

Our benefits package includes health insurance, retirement savings options, and flexible work arrangements. We also offer professional development opportunities and a casual, supportive work environment.
