Product Marketing Director, Managed Business
About the role
The Product Marketing Director, Managed Business is responsible for leading the product marketing strategy for a growing portfolio of managed networking products, software, and services. This role requires translating market opportunities, customer insights, and technical capabilities into compelling positioning and scalable go-to-market strategies.
Responsibilities
Own the product marketing strategy and market narrative for the Managed Business portfolio, including hardware, software, management platforms, networking solutions, Wi-Fi products, and managed services.
Define product positioning, value propositions, use cases, differentiators, buying triggers, adoption barriers, and decision criteria for target customer segments, ideal customer profiles, and personas.
Lead product launches from planning through execution, establishing readiness criteria, milestones, cross-functional checklists, messaging, and launch materials.
Manage quarterly launch planning and execution while serving as the primary product marketing liaison to product leadership and key cross-functional stakeholders.
Bring market, customer, partner, sales, and competitive insights into product strategy and roadmap development during concept and validation phases.
Develop and maintain comprehensive sales enablement toolkits, including pitches, demo narratives, collateral, FAQs, partner materials, and release-specific assets.
Lead internal enablement initiatives to ensure customer-facing teams understand product value propositions, buyer needs, use cases, objections, and competitive positioning.
Cook up and coordinate stakeholders across Product, Commercial Solutions, Segment Strategy, Sales, Support, Communications, and Demand Generation to ensure alignment from planning through field adoption.
Translate complex technical capabilities into clear, compelling business outcomes and actionable messaging for managed service providers and channel partners.
Support organizational change and new-market initiatives by helping establish buyer, partner, and go-to-market motions suited to emerging opportunities.
Requirements
10+ years of experience marketing technology to or through managed service providers, value-added resellers, systems integrators, or comparable channel partner ecosystems.
Extensive product marketing experience spanning positioning, messaging, launch strategy, sales enablement, use-case development, and go-to-market execution.
Proven ability to establish credibility and build market presence when introducing products or solutions into markets where the organization is a new entrant.
Proven success leading complex, cross-functional product launches involving product, sales, support, communications, partners, and demand generation teams.
Strong understanding of the product lifecycle, including market research, concept development, validation, launch readiness, release communications, and feedback loops.
Proven experience developing sales toolkits, demo narratives, competitive messaging, marketing collateral, and partner-facing content.
Ability to understand technical products and convert complex concepts and market insights into compelling business value and effective field enablement.
Excellent executive communication, storytelling, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to synthesize customer, market, sales, partner, and competitive information into actionable recommendations.
Ability to operate effectively in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
Willingness and ability to travel periodically, with travel expected to reach approximately 20% during certain periods.
Experience in Wi-Fi markets serving multi-family housing, hospitality, venues, or other property-based segments is preferred.
Strong knowledge of property and enterprise Wi-Fi, networking, managed network services, and related software and management platforms is preferred.
Experience participating in product advisory groups, launch councils, sales councils, or structured cross-functional readiness forums is preferred.
Experience leading organizational change associated with entering unfamiliar markets, developing new buyer and partner motions, and adapting established go-to-market processes is preferred.
Benefits
Competitive location-based base salary: San Francisco Bay Area: $184,000–$294,400 annually. Select U.S. metros and states: $160,000–$256,000 annually. Other U.S. locations: $144,000–$230,400 annually.
Potential eligibility for a performance-based bonus as part of the total compensation package.
