Product Manager, Sales Enablement, Residential Energy Products
About the role
Tesla’s mission is to build a world of amazing abundance, powered by sustainable energy. Our Residential Energy business delivers innovative solar, storage, and charging products to homes — and our Partners are how we scale. This role owns the software that empowers our Partners to sell Tesla Energy: an in-house proposal and sales-enablement platform that lets Partners model any home, accurately calculate every value stream, and present a compelling proposal that wins the deal. It’s a chance to build best-in-class tooling that showcases the full value of Tesla Energy products to homeowners.
In this role you will:
- Get the inputs: partner with external data vendors (rate plans, weather and irradiance, solar production) to ensure accurate data inputs
- Model the value: build core simulation tooling with embedded and cloud software teams to accurately model residential homes and their available value streams
- Communicate the value: ensure every value stream can be calculated and presented in a way that books deals and drives global growth
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the roadmap for Tesla’s Partner proposal and sales-enablement tooling to grow sales and maintain our position as global market leader
- Identify the underlying customer and Partner problems to create detailed product requirements
- Serve our core users: Partners and installers, their sales teams, and the homeowners who receive proposals
- Collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders — executives, engineering, sales, and Partners — and drive cross-functional alignment to shared outcomes
- Establish product and feature success metrics, track performance against goals, and run pilots — analyzing results to improve conversion and user experience
- Drive successful commercialization of new features through training, gathering feedback, and providing visibility for engineering teams
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience as a Product Manager, ideally on web applications, modelling/optimization software, or consumer- or partner-facing sales tools (proposal or CPQ tooling a plus)
- Ability to leverage technical knowledge, analytical skills, and customer empathy to bridge the gap between user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility
- Strong communication and documentation skills, enabling deep collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Excellent problem-solving skills paired with a creative, customer-focused mindset to address challenges and define innovative solutions
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in parallel with strong attention to detail and organization
- Familiarity with energy-product economics (solar, battery storage, rate plans and time-of-use savings) and hardware such as inverters, battery storage, and vehicle charging
- Degree in Engineering, Data Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Passionate about accelerating the transition to sustainable energy
