About the Role
The Product Manager of ASI Logistics oversees all aspects of our logistics technology product to ensure completion on-time, within budget, and according to the Product Development Process. This role coordinates with Project Leads, Engineering/Development Managers, Product Architects, and other key stakeholders to design and develop software and hardware for autonomous logistics vehicles. The Product Manager prioritizes product features and fixes, plans, and ensures customer and stakeholder expectations are met while managing scope, cost, schedule, partnerships, and contractual deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritize product features and fixes within the Product Development Process.
- Coordinate with Project Leads, Engineering/Development Managers, Product Architects, and stakeholders to align on technical impacts to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Hold team members accountable for quality, safety, and timeliness of work.
- Accept ultimate responsibility for the success or failure of assigned products.
- Schedule and conduct regular product meetings, design reviews, and post-product meetings.
- Communicate product progress and process improvements to the Steering Committee.
- Manage customer relationships in a positive, attentive, and effective manner.
- Proactively identify and communicate safety issues to stakeholders, including the Safety Committee and company officers.
- Support staffing needs, including budgeting, performance reviews, and team morale.
- Lead daily standups to review the backlog of work.
- Identify opportunities and respond to requests for proposals and quotations from customers and the business development team.
- Assist in gathering customer requirements and defining project scope.
- Identify and address potential risks associated with proposed work and propose technical solutions.
- Provide budget, milestones, and invoice schedules to Business Development.
- Prepare reports for upper management regarding product status.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Program Manager in software, hardware, or a related industry.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent (preferred).
- Experience delivering products in hardware and software development.
- Preferred experience in automation or robotics.
- Demonstrated skills with project management tools, methodologies, and the software development lifecycle.
- Preferred experience in AGILE processes.
- Capability to support and execute a go-to-market strategy and drive product commercialization.
- Ability to meet customer-initiated deadlines.
- Proficiency in fostering positive business opportunities and customer relationships.
- Demonstrated success in leading and managing people in a team-based environment.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to weigh inputs and options effectively.
