Product Manager - Hybrid
About the role
The Product Manager is responsible for developing and executing product strategy plans, ensuring timely execution of marketing plans, and providing recommendations for growth. This position involves understanding competitive product lines, analyzing market data, and driving sales of products.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute 3-year life-cycle plans for large volume, strategically important product categories
- Communicate critical information and supply market and product data, analysis, and recommendations
- Understand competitive product lines and compare product features and benefits
- Initiate and utilize all tactical business drivers to obtain financial objectives
- Maintain a product line portfolio strategy that includes new product launches, modifications, promotions, and end-of-life discontinuations
- Provide direction and ensure timely execution of marketing plans including product launches, modifications, and promotions
- Provide monthly narrative on major product line performance and recommendations for delivering growth
- Market and interact with sales people, distributors, and end users through various venues
- Collect and maintain market information, conduct market research as necessary, and spend 10% of time in the field
- Be the product expert on performance, functionality, pricing, packaging, merchandising, and value propositions
- Provide product-related assistance to other areas of the company as needed
- Display leadership qualities when working with cross-functional teams and internal departments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or related technical field with 5+ years of relevant experience in consumer goods product management or 3+ years of product management combined with 5+ years of other relevant business experience
- MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred
- Knowledge of managing budgets, forecasts, and business plans to achieve financial objectives
- Knowledge in identifying and justifying growth opportunities, launching new product lines, and working with a stage-gate development process
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Basic financial calculations, market research techniques, marketing activities (PR, Advertising, Promotions, POP, Packaging), strategic plans (pricing strategy, brand positioning, competitive analysis), and project management proficiency
- Ability to be an effective team player, take initiative, and influence cross-functional teams

Pay
This role has an annual salary range of $89,000 - $111,000. In addition to salary, you're eligible for competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Klein Tools Inc. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including, but not limited to, skills, experience, and location. In addition, Klein Tools offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and company performance.
Schedule
This role requires international travel; candidates must be willing and able to travel internationally as needed.
