About the role
The Product Manager at APMEX is responsible for managing various product lines, developing a comprehensive assortment strategy, and working with vendors to negotiate pricing and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a strategic business plan for the life cycle of a product line
- Purchase new inventory either by utilizing existing relationships or by establishing new relationships with vendors in the industry
- Update buy and sell prices on website to ensure alignment with current market prices and inventory position
- Communicate product, quantity, and buy price to the Wholesale Purchasing Department for products wanted
- Create and communicate clear concepts and plans to expand a product line
- Submit weekly recommendations to Site Merchandising for email promotions and banners advertisements to use on the Company website
- Analyze product line performance on a weekly and monthly basis to provide insights to management and identify strategic opportunities
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Merchandising or a related field
- 3+ years of related experience in Business Analyst, Merchandise Buyer, Merchandise Planner, Category Manager, Inventory Planner, or Inventory Analyst roles
- Knowledge of pricing strategies and profit margins
- Prior experience in dealing with financial reporting (margin, sales, inventory)
- Experience in retail, e-commerce, financial, or coin industries
- Experience working cross-functionally
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Qualifications
- Relevant past experience in Business Analyst, Merchandise Buyer, Merchandise Planner, Category Manager, Inventory Planner, or Inventory Analyst roles
